The number of small and midsized passenger cars with diesel engines is continuously growing. And so is the NOx concentration in many cities around the world.

With ASDS-1 we have developed a compact, but highly efficient de-NOx system for these specific car segments.

The ASDS-1 makes no use of urea. Instead, the system is based on AdAmmine and makes it possible to release an accurate dose of pure ammonia gas directly into the exhaust system.

In the ASDS-1 the thermally activated ammonia release is obtained solely by electrical heating and contains replaceable cartridges with AdAmmine and a small start-up unit that ensures short time-to-dose even at temperatures well below 0° C. This makes the ASDS-1 very suitable for urban driving over short distances with frequent cold starts of the engine.
The capacity of the cartridges is adjusted to last a normal service interval. In other words: The end-user will not have to do any refilling. The main cartridges will be replaced when the car is serviced. The start-up unit is a permanent part of the car, and is recharged during normal driving.

The control system is electronic, and the ASDS software can be layered in the engine control unit as well as in the dosing control unit or in a separate ASDS controller.

The ASDS-1 is available as compact prototype systems for rapid installation in a test car. For series development towards production, the system will be tailored for optimal performance and integration on the intended platform.
