Smog problems in the big cities require new and strict regulations on the emissions from diesel-powered commercial vehicles.

In 2008 London introduced a low emission zone, and in 2009 president Obama announced a new national fuel economy and emissions policy with strict regulations for the United States.

With the ASDS-2, trucks as well as small and mediumsized commercial vehicles and off-road machines can get a green pass to the low emission zones of urban areas in the world.

The ASDS-2 is a highly efficient de-NOx system that makes no use of urea. Instead, the system is based on AdAmmine and makes it possible to release an accurate dose of pure ammonia directly into the exhaust system.
The ASDS-2 is heated by the engine coolant and contains one or more replaceable cartridges of about 11 litres in size as well as a small start-up unit that ensures short time-to-dose even at temperatures well below 0° C.

This makes the ASDS-2 very suitable for urban driving over short distances with frequent cold starts of the engine.

The control system is electronic, and the ASDS software can be layered in the engine control unit as well as in the dosing control unit or in a separate ASDS controller.
